Red Ant Chutney

The tribal community of Jharkhand eats red ant chutney found in the trees of the forest with great enthusiasm. The people of tribal society believe that if this ant chutney is eaten during cold days, then cold will not be felt and hunger will also be good. Tartaric acid is found in it, which is very beneficial for the body.

In Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, red ants chutney is known as 'kai chutney' and now scientists are demanding a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for this dish.
